COWON O2PMP Firmware V1.35

When you install this firmware in your device, you won’t lose the data in your device. However,
please back up your data in case of loss.
Please make sure the battery is charged enough for upgrade. It is recommended to connect a wall
adaptor while upgrading your device.
Do not turn off or press the reset button of your device while it is upgrading.
Recommended to download firmware from our website only.
You are able to check files are saved correctly through "check disk" When your device is not working stable.
Run 'Disk Check' menu in 'Setup > System > General'.
Please make sure that you are disconnecting your device with "safely remove hardware" for disconnecting
your device and PC safely.
COWON Media Center - You can easily convert or rip your files to compatible files on COWON O2PMP by
JetAudio. (AVI, MP4, Musepack, WavPack, TTA, APE, FLAC and so on)
Video mode
- Fixed the error of blinking and color blurs while playing video files that are encoded to WMV9 simple profiles.
- Fixed the error that some AVI files, which have damaged header, are displaying as not supported codec
while they are playing.
- Improved displaying colored and abnormal subtitles.
- Fixed the error that some ASF/WMV files are not playing properly cause of recognize duration time
- Improved stabilization of decoding MPEG4 files.
- Fixed the error that it was not possible to seek play end parts of some large AVI files.
- Fixed the error that regularly sound skipping when some mpg files are playing.
Music mode
- Support BMP, PNG, GIF, and TIFF image formats for album arts.
- Support up to 59.0 mega pixels of JPG and 5.0 mega pixels of other formats for album arts.
- Improved stabilization of playing some MP3 files that contain album arts.
- Improved stabilization of playing some MP3 files that contain ID3 tags.
(Fixed error that some MP3 files, which ID3 tags header was 0, are playing abnormally).
- Fixed the error that ID3 tags were displayed broken when the length of ID3 tags are too long.
Picture/comics viewer
- Support BMP files that are 16Bit RGB565.
- Fixed error that system gets down while files, which file name is too long, are playing.
- Fixed the error that sometimes first image was displaying abnormally when you boot system.
- Fixed the error that some JPEG files are displayed abnormally as brighter or darker.
- Fixed the error that images were not moving properly when music is off in multi-tasking pop-up.
- Support scroll by drag.
Resent files
- Fixed the error that system was down when you multi play music and text files in SD card from resent
file list.
- Changed to save resent played files in resent folder when you run user programs. Previously, it was saved
as resent file when you go to list of user programs.
Password settings
- Added new feature of adding password to protect your files from others.
(No password protection when you connect your device to PC.)
- Use this function after set your settings. (Setup > System > Function)
- Password can contain 1 to 8 digit code.
- To remove password, connect your device with PC and delete the password.sys file in the .system folder of your device.
- Fixed the error that clock was not displayed properly when you change to some fonts.
- Fixed the error that power off was delayed unusually.
- Changed to set sleep timer by clicking the clock on the bottom bar.
* Please remind that it is not possible to downgrade firmware after you upgrade your device to this firmware.
When you need to upgrade your device.
1. The current firmware version of your COWON O2PMP is different from the application version. 2. Your Device doesn’t power up after format the device. 3. Your device halts due to deletion of the system folder or other unknown bugs. 4. When HDD error is occurred after disk cleanup. 5. New firmware is published with fixed bugs. 6. New features are enhanced with new firmware.
Please read notes before install the firmware.
1. Unzip the latest firmware provided by COWON.COM and save it in any folder. 2. Please connect the USB port on the back of your computer when you are upgrading firmware. 3. The battery must be charged enough or full
After unzip the firmware file, select all files in the firmware folder and right click to copy.
Connect COWON O2PMP to a PC via USB cable. When connection is made, paste the firmware files to the root folder of COWON O2PMP.
Click “safely remove hardware” icon in the tray at the lower right corner of your computer screen to disconnect COWON O2PMP from the PC.
Make sure the COWON O2PMP is turned off and then Press the power button. COWON O2PMP will automatically start firmware upgrade. COWON O2PMP will restart after finishing upgrade.
Pease restart the device and check the version of firmware is correct then firmware upgrade is done.
You will be able to check version of firmware on Setup > Information.
